LAFS.1112.SL.2.5: This standard really places importance on creativity when it comes to curriculum, as well as stresses the importance of being creative in the education field. The standard mainly focuses on digital media, whether it be textual, graphical, audiovisual, etc.. in presentations. This standard is important because often times students don't find interest in the curriculum that is being taught to them at school. Students also have different ways of learning or preferred methods of learning, so as an educator it is important to meet those students needs so they can learn to the best of their own unique abilities. I would say that I would be confident carrying out everything that this standard encompasses. Given my previous experience as a curriculum coach for Peace Jam South East, as. 4th and 5th grade math and science teacher, and as a preschool teacher, I feel more than prepared to implement this standard. I used a lot of digital media during my time as a teacher, especially because I taught during the COVID-19 pandemic. I saw students feeling disconnected from school and tried to incorporate fun digital media for them. In my time with peace jam I have utilized digital media even more, especially because it is an international non profit so we do a lot of virtual programming and take pride in producing creative content for those in the organization, but also to do the students we coach. I currently coach curriculum for PeaceJam at Appalachee Tapestry Magnet and plan on doing the same.

Out of all the Social Studies resources for grades 9-12, I was very interested in "America in the 1920s: The Influence of Arts and Entertainment, Part 1 (of 2)". The Roaring 20s is always a fun era to teach students about, especially high school students. This era is fun, a boisterous era full of prosperity, fast cars, jazz, speakeasies, and wild youth, so students are always super interested in it, simply because it is not your typical boring era to learn from. There was a lot of arts involved in this era, so it would be cool for the students who are more arts inclined. Having them engaged in an era full of things they enjoy. The objective in this resource is to be able to describe some of the ways that arts and entertainment helped change American history in the 1920s, so it is an easy and fun topic that allows them to learn about U.S history at the same time. It also talks about Hollywood and celebrity culture in the Roaring 20s, which students would probably enjoy. It would be interesting for students to see how art reflected in the aftermath of World War 1. I would use this resource to tell my students that the arts portrayed American life in a specific way that forced them to reflect upon modern isolation, confusion, family conflict, among other things as well. The arts was a time for people to see the possibilities of what could be and to see their dreams portrayed through the arts.

Internet searching is important because there is an overwhelming amount of information on the internet, so it is important to make sure we are researching accurate and reliable information to use for our studies or for anything else even. Being specific is important when it comes to internet searching, because it allows your results and findings to be just what you are looking for, or somewhat relatively close. This also saves you time as well. This is why I really enjoyed the skill of using filters on advanced search to sort through information. I would definitely teach this to my students so they can be more efficient when it comes to internet searching.
